My name is Sarah Wiliiams and I was a nurse in the Army Nurse Corps (ANC) during World War II where I treated thousands of our brave soldiers. In April 1942 I became a prisoner of war when the Bataan Peninsula was captured by the Japanese. Throughout this website you will read about mine and my brothers experiences during WWII. My brother was in the army during the capture of the Philippines and he was a survivor of the Bataan Death March. He will tell you about the villianous Japanese soldiers, and some of the horrible things they did to the FIlipino and American soldiers while they were imprisoned. I will tell you about the life as a nurse, and the internment at the Santo Tomas University Campus. As a nurse I saw all kinds of sickening injuries and I feel that this could have been avoided if General Douglas MacArthur had organized a different war plan for the Philippines.
